Learn With Us

The ocean connects us all, from our rivers, bays, and beaches, to the communities that rely on clean water. Protecting our waters begins with understanding them, and how communities can protect them.

Since 1984, Clean Ocean Action has inspired thousands of students, educators, and community members to become environmental stewards through hands-on learning, interactive experiences, and real-world action. Our programs offer students of all ages to explore the connections between everyday choices and the health of our waterways, empowering the next generation of ocean advocates.

Whether you're a student, teacher, parent, or lifelong learner, there's a program for you dive deeper!

Student Summits

Our free Student Summits give middle school students an unforgettable day of marine environmental exploration through hands-on activities, scientific discovery, and outdoor learning.

Students may investigate: Horseshoe crabs and marine wildlife, invertebrate identification, marine debris and pollution, watershed mindfulness, coastal ecosystem tours, and much more!

SEAL Program

Make change through our high school leadership program

Leadership starts locally.

The Student Environmental Advocates & Leaders (SEAL) Program empowers Monmouth County high school students to become informed environmental leaders. Participants collaborate with peers, attend workshops and leadership talks, and develop environmental projects in their schools, towns, and communities.

Through SEAL, students gain valuable leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while making their impact felt in their hometowns.

Seaside Environmental Academy

Book a seaside day!

Our SEA program offers immersive day and week-long environmental programs for K–12 students at Sandy Hook, New Jersey. Through outdoor exploration and hands-on activities, participants discover the wonders of the marine environment while building a deeper appreciation for coastal ecosystems.

Topics may include catch-and-release marine life studies, shell identification, lighthouse history, coastal ecology, and more!
